The industrial terminal is a kind of PC management controller, It realizes the industrial production process monitoring, control, management and optimization mainly by sending datas and commands to control and monitor the execution of singlechip processor drives, to reduce the manual labor, increase production efficiency. Typically, industrial terminal is consists of the main controller module,communication module, human-computer interaction module, data storage module and power module and so on. Among them, the main controller is the core part of the orderly operation of the terminal-industry, it not only responsible for the coordination of other functional modules, but also need to provide the man-machine interactive interface and completes the data processing, which to a great extent the performance of the whole system decision. However, the main controller of the traditional industrial terminal equipment is mostly based on PLC and other low-speed microprocessor, which result in the whole terminal system performance is low, the human-computer interaction is not friendly, peripheral expand-ability is poor and the upgrade maintenance costs higher that unable to meet the user changing application requirements.According to the above problems, the subject which uses the injection molding machine manipulator application as the background proposed a design scheme of industrial terminal based on ARM. The terminal adopts the Texas instruments ARM series of industrial-grade AM3358 chip as the core processor,which integrates and extends other functional modules and communicates with the machine(injection molding machine manipulator drive) through the Ethernet or other communication module interface.Realizing the production process control, query and management; cutting and grafting Android smartphone operating system on the hardware platform, applying JAVA language to develop the application software,realizing the function of each module.Firstly, This thesis introduces the development status of injection molding machine industry, and selects the software and hardware bcombinning with the current status of industrial control, according to the application requirement of injection molding machine, then it introduces carefully for the thought and principle of the main modules of the hardware platform design; the Boot Loder operation process is analyzed and to be realized, it cuts custom Linux kernel, makes the Android file system, realizes the Android operating system customization, provides good software and hardware environment for the upper application. Secondly, it display the model framework according to injection molding machine application design, realizing the main function module interface, using Java language development to achieve human-computer interaction, and some key technologies are introduced. Finally, the development of communication protocols and database tab, to complete functions of modules, such as data storage,communications functions, and carries on the test to the system. The results show that the software and hardware of the system are stable and reliable, friendly man-machine interaction, easy to upgrade, fully able to meet the increasing needs of the user application.
