EMBCCD(Electron Multiplying Back-illuminated Charge Coupled Device) is a new type solid low-light-level imaging device of high sensitivity in the detection field.It uses an unique technology of the multiplying on chips in order to catch up with the sensitivity of ICCD and EBCCD. Moreover, it uses the method of back illuminating so that it can further improve the sensitivity of the system. As to low-light-level imaging device, noise can not only limit the detection performance of the system, but also affect the quality of the image. Therefore, designing the low noise system is of great importance to improve the SNR and widen the dynamic range of the whole system.The article introduces the operating principle of EMCCD first. Then the basic structure and the drive circuit of EMBCCD is provided. After analyzing the noise of EMBCCD, the article comes up with some methods to handle it, which include the design of improvement of the voltage stabilization, the design about smoothing and eliminating of the signal from CCD, the design about the improvement of the sampling of CCD, the design of TEC system and the digital image processing.Finally, after the test of those methods, it is a success that they can reduce the noise of the EMBCCD system noticeably.
