Abstract/Summary:
This paper is to solve the test problem of the User data collection and compression system for the WCDMA networks.Many applications which were used in Ethernet are transplanted in wireless network since the networks’ bandwidth improved a lot. These applications include real time voice transfer, cloud storage, online game and video on demand. All these applications are based on wireless packet switch, which raise the demand on QoS, packets emergency treatment and even high bandwidth. Improve the user experience with equipment expansion is the way to solve most question, but the more expressive way, since equipment expansion equals to involving much more money. Learning from the experience of Ethernet, data compression and deep packet analysis are wise choice for solve the above question and both of them are based on network data capture first.This paper first introduced the platform and topology of the user data capture & compression system for WCDMA network. To verify the basic function of this system, at beginning it is tested by some invented wireless session been written by some commercial software. In this scene, once the simulated session is setup, ftp packet would automatically be sent and compressed by the system. The compression rate even reaches 60%-70%. But when the system put into the real network the compression rate is lower than 5%, which suggested that the testing way to the system is not accurate enough. Considering the problem is caused by system failing to treat some special session flow, this paper is to design a real data test solution for the WCDMA wireless network.The way to capture the real network user data is to setup a capture server in provider’s network and save the data as a PCAP file. The lab simulation topology is based on this. Before continue the main topic, this paper introduced the signaling level differences between WCDMA and TD-SCDMA on doing user data capture. After that this paper analyzed the system architecture and designed the lab environments for this real data testing structure. The following parts from chapter three are the verification solution both from data plane and control plane.Data plane testing is to give a big picture of how the system works and focus on verifying some global parameters. This paper picked up some common test point like throughput rate and compression rate. Besides, couples of the check point of the session was designed and raised to the developer to help to describe whether system could handle some detailed process. From these check points project manager and developer could have a direct understand whether the software build is good or not.Control plane test is to verify whether the system could handle each session and even a single message. Since a PCAP file would cover thousands and more of the sessions, it requests a solution to process large amount of information. So after analyzing the 3G protocols and concluding the key points when a HSDPA session is setup, processed and terminated, this paper tried to find the law of system log and mapped them to some information elements corresponding to those key points. Large amount of data process is solved with the help of data base. With the scripts these key points or information elements were input to the data base. In the other hand, a network test tool transferred the PCAP to some readable text files. And then another script is written to search the database and compare those key points with the readable text files to generate the test report in the end. At the end of the paper there was an example to show how to use the test solution of this paper and find the system bug. The research started from a Binding ID missing. Based on that, a designed key information “UDP port delete cause” helped to find the position in messages where system could not handle well.
