The Design & Realization Of Municipal Engineering Data Management Software

The development of economic globlization asks the municipal enterprises to respond to the markets rapidly from the aspects of time, quality, costs, service and environment so as to provide quality service to customers. And the municipal enterprises themselves need to focus on the improvement of informationalization level through modern technology and management in order to be more competitive. However the current situation is quite different. There are lots of problems in the management of drawing data, e.g. dispersed and dislocated results data leading to difficult searching or using them, complicated procedures of projects approval and slow process. It’s really necessary to systematically develop the software for municipal engineering to standardize the management of professional drawings, data and files so as to search and use the drawings quickly and accurately to improve the efficiency of production and mamagement of municipal enterprises.Based on GIS visualization technology, we have designed and developed the software for municipal engineering data management, which provides a relatively common solution for large and midium-sized municipal enterprises. It, of course, can be adjusted to the detailed needs, work flows and setup of functional departments of enterprises. The main ideas of this article include:1. the key technology adopted in the development of management software for municipal engineering, including GIS visualization and spacial analysis technology, SuperMap Objects component technology, GIS general interface design, system security design, and role-oriented workflow model2. the detailed design of management software system for municipal engineering, including needs analysis, system designs of development architecture, function modules and database3. the management software system for municipal engineering based on C/S network architecture with component GIS tools, which illustrates the effects of GIS integration, role management, data browsing and files downloading, and drawing approval, as well as the system testing planThe trial by Chengdu municipal engineering and reseach design institute shows that this software can evidently help to improve the management level and office efficiency.
