Although digital TV SoC chip has been widely used so far our country independent design and matching capacity are still quite back ward. Digital image sharpening is one of the most key technologies in digital TV SoC chip, so the research on algorithm of digital image sharpening has the very huge research and practical values. This paper mainly conducts the research from two aspects of the following. One aspect is the research on the algorithm of digital image sharpening. In the research process of the digital image sharpening algorithm, firstly the author will analyze the advantages and disadvantages of existing algorithms, and then on this basis extract all the advantages of various algorithm, put forward a kind of algorithm based on the realization of sharpening image in a mixing space. This algorithm is that the digital image processing is carried out one order and two order algorithm and it use the smoothing gradient image masking Laplasse transform image, form the template masking image, and get the sharpening image finally by adding masking image and the original image. The design and implementation of this method is very simple with less consumption of resources and changes the template lifting coefficients very easily. By sharpening the edge details in images, this algorithm makes the image of the sense of hierarchy more obviouslyand greatly improves the image quality. The effect is very obvious. After the Modelsim software and FPGA respectively verify the algorithm of enhanced digital image sharpening in functional simulation and system level, it proves the image sharpening requirements completely meets the design requirements of digital TV SoC.
