In recent years, IOT technology has been widely used in transportation, intelligent Home Furnishing, public security, e-commerce and logistics management, which greatly changes and influences our daily life. IOT industry is viewed as one of the strategic developing high ground for the world economy and science and technology, its broad developing prospect and huge potential commercial value has attracted more and more attention around the world. However, many IOT handsets’ function in the market is single, at the same time, their operating system Wince is not open-source and needs payments. Considering these defects, according to multi-functional, low power consumption and other needs of the handset, this thesis adopts the powerful microprocessor S5PV210 integrated ARM Cortex-A8 kernel, using free and open-source embedded operating system Android, to design a kind IOT handset that can indentify many kinds of RFID protocol tags with Barcode scanning and the temperature and humidity sensing. The hanset can bring some certain reference values for the development of IOT devices and enrich the IOT industry chain.Firstly, this thesis introduces the basic concepts and the system structure of IOT and analyzes the current development situation and trend at home and abroad. It describes the research background and significance, and makes arrangements for the chapter structure.Secondly, according to the system’s demand, makes the whole design. This thesis briefly introduces the selection for the processor and each function module, and gives hardware interface circuit. On basis of analysis of Android system structure, it concludes the developing process of software system for the handset.Thirdly, this thesis gives a detailed description for the drivers’ development of the handset, including 8*8 matrix keyboard driver, power management driver and HF module driver. In order to get a better interaction between the driver and Android UI, it designs middleware control program and encapsulates the JNI communication interface for the information acquisition module, establishs the communication data format between the bottom driver and the middleware control program, defines the communication data format between Android UI program and PC host computer, completes Android UI development, deisgns PC server program based on MFC.Finally, this thesis gives the system test environment, tests and analyzes the performance of hardware and software modules, and makes a summary and outlook.
