Along with the development of the signal processing technology, the passive locating technology has been widely applied to many fields such as navigation, aviation, and EW system, etc.. Comparing with the active locating system, the passive locating system can enhance the abilities of counter reconnaissance, jamming resistance, and soft or hard execution of the system. At the same time, it has the ability of detecting stealth targets, low and ultra-low altitude targets. Nowadays, the passive locating technology has been playing more and more important role in modern warfare. Moreover, preciXX locating of radiators is also very important in civil systems.As a passive locating method, the time-difference locating has been attracting more and more attentions becauXX of its high locating precision, high maneuverability, and less requirements on reception systems. In this paper, the theories and methods of both the time-difference estimation and locating are analysis and studied. A system software for time-difference locating is designed and then verified to be practicable. The following aspects have been studied:The background and current situation of domestic time-difference locating technology are studied.The theory of time-difference estimation, the method of locating, and the performance of locating are analyzed.A software for time-difference locating is designed and implementedThe software is verified in combination with actual equipmentThe contents of the study are summarized. Further aspects of study are given.The method of time-difference estimation and locating and the locating efficiency are studied and analyzed, and a praticable way of realizing the estimation and locating is given and later verified.As an important way of passive detection, the technology of time-difference locating is the development orientation and has a broad prospect of application.
