Time Difference Locating System (TDLS) has many advantages of long distance of discovery, adapting to various signals, easy to be concealed and higher accuracy, which is exerting function of more and more important in the modern warfare. On account of the particularity of its working principles, TDLS has great differences on the aspects of testing method and data evaluation comparing with the traditional positive locating equipment. In order to judge the tested equipment objectively and accurately in the test, testing method of multi-station TDLS is researched and explored systematically in this paper.In the introduction of this paper, the background and meaning are illustrated and the system, developing status and trend of the passive locating technology are introduced briefly, so as to explain the real meaning of the technological research on the aspects of equipment test, training, development and technology improvement.In the second chapter of the paper, combining with the characteristics of the TDLS, five kinds of factors of"deployment method, signal Signal-to-Noise, object altitude, post address error and moving object Doppler frequency variation"which affect the locating precision of the system are arrived at by analyzing the principle, locating arithmetic and the measurement method of locating error of the TDLS. The locating error affection of Doppler frequency variation to aerial moving target is emphatically analyzed, at the same time, the theoretic deduction and simulation are carried through.In the third chapter of the paper, with a view to the engineering practice requirement of outfield range and the characteristics of the test origination, according to the principles of the test, the total design thought of"research of war situation-test, test compendium design and correction and confirmation of test key parameter by computer simulation-test, accurate design-test evaluation of outfield test implement"is put. In the concrete research, the specific method of processing the test data through subsection is put forward by analyzing the non-stability data processing principle and the requirement of test data processing which is aiming at the non-stability of the locating error data. In the processing, the concrete parameter of the data processing is confirmed by computer simulation and the moving flight war situation is designed rationally.Connecting with the contents of the second and the third chapter, in the fourth chapter, according to the theory of equivalent efficiency-substitution-calculation, the calculation model of passive locating precision is established, the model is checked using the test data of the outfield test ground and compared with the flight test result. The locating precision of calculation of the tested equipment is carried through from the conditions of test to the real combat, and the result of locating precision of the tested equipment to the operation object is arrived at. In the end, the locating precision characteristic of the tested equipment is evaluated scientifically and objectively. Through the research, the problem of the design and evaluation of the TDLS test is solved which guarantees test of design and finalization of the design of the tri-post TDLS favorably. And the range test theory,test design method and test evaluation method is enriched.
