The terahertz wave refers to the frequency range between 0.1-10 THz, in recent years, due to the development of terahertz radiation, terahertz technology get more and more people’s attention, and the THz detection technology is particularly important. The research institutions at home and broad are get more and more attentions on the technology of the development of the infrared focal plane array(IRFPA) in order to using this technology to develop the terahertz detectors, Based on this, the main work of this article is to develop a system which have the ability of testing and imaging the terahertz focal plane array detectors.This THz testing system’s design includes the hardware part and software part. hardware mainly to provide a good working environment for the detectors, high-speed data transmission; software is mainly provided for the system concise software framework design and efficient algorithm. These two aspects ensure test system capable of testing large-array performance parameters terahertz focal plane array detectors and real-time image display function terahertz detector. The main work of this paper is as follows, analyzes the working principle of micro-bridge structure terahertz detectors, terahertz radiation works, reference infrared detector test parameters and test methods terahertz unit, we presented the principles and methods of performance testing terahertz detector, the main parameters comprising the responsivity, the noise equivalent power, responsivity non-uniformity, non-effective pixel. Referring to the test requirements of performance parameters proposed test system design. In the hardware design of the testing system, including the timing-driven design, digital to analog conversion, the bias voltage regulation, data collection and so on; In PCIE(Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) module design, including inter-PCIE-driven design, the driver interacts with the application, FPGA(Field-Programmable Gate Array)and computer data collection; the design of the testing of the electrical parameters; The THz image’s correction and enhancement, include non-uniformity correction, blind compensation, histogram equalization; in the design of the automation module, including automatic adjusting the bias voltage, the test system data, record the report, save and export.The THz detector test system works stably, it can meet the test requirements of the THz detector and the real-time imaging capabilities can meet the system requirements. The system also has a simple operation, system stability, high automation, scalable and other characteristics.
