The microwave frequency converter which is a central part of communication system, is widely used in microwave communication, radar systems, remote sensing,navigation system, reconnaissance, electronic countermeasures, and so on. Due to the rapid development of satellite communications, RF front-end circuit’s integration is becoming higher and higher, and which function is becoming faster and faster.Sometimes multi-channel is needed when single module converter cannot satisfy the needs of the development of communication industry. While developing the equipment towards miniaturization and integration, we need integrate the multi-channel converter into a crate, so the topic about the integration of multi-channel converter is worth researching.This dissertation mainly focuses on the study about integration of multi-channel converter, which provides a microwave converter with generality, practicality and high reliability for microwave communication. This converter shares a crate, a power supply,a clock module, a master control module. And each converter module is mutual independent-work or close alone. The converter module also supports blind plug, which can be removed or replaced at any time, thus greatly reducing the volume of equipment,saving the cost,being also convenient for users to use and maintenance in the future.The main work of the thesis includes:1. This dissertation introduces the evolution of microwave converter in the first place, and then introduces the main technical index of microwave converter, the basic theory of phase locked loop, the common design methods of phase locked frequency synthesizer, and the common structures of microwave converter while analyzing the merit and demerit of each structure.2. When the multi-channel converter is designed under the technical requirements,it includes several major aspects below: the system composition block diagram and principle, the system structure design, the down-converter module design of S band, the clock unit design, the power module design, the control unit design, as well as the system’s reliability and maintainability design. This dissertation discusses the down-converter module design of S band detailedly. After analysis under the technical requirements, the down-converter module design of S band takes super-heterodyne anddown-converter structure; according to the using super-heterodyne structure and main technical parameters, we determine the scheme of S band down-converter, local oscillator and self-checking function.At the same time the simulation and optimization are proceeded.3. Marcato introduce the choice of key components and analyze the device performance.Finally, after the complete device is tested, we record the results Through contrastive analysis of the test results and the technical index of project requirements,the final test results meet the requirements of design index.
