With the new changes and development trends of modern warfar, real time and detailed military information has played an important role that cannot be replaced in military strategic defense, strategic order, and March decision and so on. Due to limited information, the smaller geographic region can be found provided by the conventional military paper map, which has not been able to meet the demands of modern warfare in particular field environment. Therefore, the electronic map information display system of information storage capacity, small volume, light weight, low power consumption, and suiting field environment in urgent need of development. Micro-projector has become the preferred tool for electronic map display.In this thesis, I have designed the hardware platform based on the embedded technology and DLP technology, which can project or display necessary geographical information also can display other combat information in the case of the necessary condition. The design of the portable micro-projector which was verified satisfies or closes to the main index. The main research contents of this paper are as follows: 1.I have research and design the hardware platform、projection step and each module functions of micro-projector based on DLP technology and embedded technology. Hardware platform consists of embedded microprocessor as the core control module, DLP chipset as the digital light processing module, video processing module, power conversion module and necessary peripheral interfaces. Projection step concluding video input, video formatting, video decoding, video converting, digital light processing and projecting. 2.I have descripted the key technology of the three subsystems of micro system, which including LED drive circuit designing、low power consumption of power circuit designing and DMD driving technology. LED drivering circuit not only to provide sufficient drivering current to the LED light source, but also realizing LED’S brightness adjustment with the technology of PWM. Low power consumption of power circuit supplys the normal power for the system, besides, which will achieve low-power design by working in different modes, that means power system is controlled by the micro-projection system. DMD driving technology is to drive light machine, achievingthe effective projection of input video by configuring DLP chip.Finally, I have verified and analyzed the various functional modules of system with the designed prototype. By testing and validating, the hardware platform and associated driver circuits of the micro-projection work good and meet the designing requirements.
