With the developm ent of m odern agriculture, high-efficiency agriculture has become a trend. In the process of developm ent of modern agricu lture, the agricultural technology promotion is af fected by m any factors, including the low agriculture performance, the lim ited scale agriculture, pest serious lim itations, moreover, pest damaging fruit, vegetable and crops are an important factor, and special knowledge limitation of agriculture experts as well. For these, we conduct study on remote intelligent diagnostic system for crops pests and diseas es in this thes is. Through this system, the user does n ot need to look through the tedious operation conditions in the massive database, and simply by Internet connectivity server can realize their d iagnosis of agricultural conditions.The thesis discusses the development background of Crop Remote Intelligent Diagnosis System, and domestic systems are in use. We conduct requirement analysis based on analysis the history and c urrent situation of crop diagnosis system with comprehensive understanding user requirements. We analyze the functions that the system is to realize, and based on these, we make general design for the goal functions of the system. Following that, we make the detailed design of the module function, and of the databases and knowledgebase. According to the detailed design of system modules, we adapt Visual Studio 2008 as the development platform to implement the design. In software test, we care fully design the test case and conduct a series of functional test for the system. In requirement analysis, the system requirement includes two parts: functional requirement analysis and nonfunctional requirement analysis. With regards to functional analysis, we design the system as four functional parts based on dividing the business flow of crops remote diagnosis and on actor discrimination of the system. We draw use case chart for each functional parts. As to the nonfunctional analysis, we mainly focus on the reliability, stability, data processing ability and responsibility of the system. Based on the requirement analysis, we design the system as a three-layer architecture, which is made up of presentation layer, service layer and data layer. The presentation layer is the Web browser and service layer includes two parts: Web server and database server. We also design the system as four func tional modules, those are Basic Disease and Insect Information Module, Disease and Insect Diagnosis Query Module, Plant Expert Q/A Module and System Control Module. These four modules are functionally independent and realize their function respectively, which can cover all the business flow of crops remote diagnosis. The test results show that the system can reach the claim of design, and satisfies the requirement of user. Therefore, the development of the system makes contribution to the construction of e-government for our country at some extent.
