Digital Array Radar(DAR) is a fully digitized phased array radar in which digitalbe amforming techniques is used both in receiving and transmitting, it is the main type of digital radar. Just as in electronic system the digital technology is replacing analog technology, digital radar is also replacing analog radar. Unlike analog radar, digital radar farless sensitive to internal and external radiointerference, temperature and humidity, besides the price of digital radar is not as expensive as analog radar. In addition, digital radar can be performed radically different operating modes by changing the program, which is impossible for the analog radar.Digital array radar mainly consists of digital T/R module, digital beamforming, largecapacity high-speed data transmission technology and high-performance software-based signal processor. Receive digital beamforming is a processing unit in which the output signal of array antenna will be digitized sampled by the A/D and then be sent to digital beamformer. Besides it can complete complex weighting processing to various signals and then form the desired beam signal. In addition, the digital array radar requires a powerful processing platform for mission control, timing generator, correction, beam steering, target tracking, and display processing. So, digital beam forming and digital signal processor plays an important role in the digital array radar.This thesis according to the specific requirements and technical characteristics of the digital array radar project, analyze and research the signal processing flow, concrete implementation method and performance comparison of digital array radar signal processor. Put forward the specific signal processing scheme to the digital array radar project; At the same time, simulate various modules with Matlab and Modelsim; Finally, complete the hardware implementation based on FPGA in order to validate the feasible of the scheme.In this thesis, the main research projects have been completed include:First, the basic theory of digital array radar signal processing, which mainly contains the form of radar signal, digital beam forming, pulse compression, moving target indication(MTI), moving target detection(MTD) and constant false alarm rate detection(CFAR). Combined with characteristics of the project, the paper describes the basic principles of the various parts, and routine implementation.Second, the analysis of the design and simulation of the digital array radar signal processor systems. Combining with the characteristics of projects studies the specific parameters of digital array radar system, pose the system scheme design, simulation analysis and performance analysis.Third, realize the digital array radar signal processor based on FPGA hardware. Using Altera’s StratixIII series FPGA chip EP3SE80F1152I3 as the main chip in VHDL language. Then, we debug all of the signal processing modules and verify the correctness of the digital array radar systems. Mading the detailed introduction of the structure and the important chip function of signal processing board; Posing Signaltap analyzer figure of various modules.
