The Design And Implementation Of Personalized Launcher Based On Android System

Android launcher is the Android desktop, the English name is Launcher. And the design of this subject is related to an Android project called Android TV Box which I joined in. The purpose is to design an Android desktop with more integrated feature, more simple operation and more beautiful interface. This is a software which was developed on Eclipse by using java language for replacing the Android native desktop. Therefore the main research work of this Thesis includes:1. Designing the interface module of Android desktop. Interface module is divided into four parts including the welcome screen, the boot screen, the main interface and the sub interface. The welcome screen is used for simplily introducing the basic situation of Android desktop. The boot screen is used for introducing the Launcher’s features. The main interface and the sub interface are the principal interface to use various functions by users.2. Designing the function module of Android desktop. Function module is referred to as the various functions on interface. It includes six parts: clicking and shadow effects, choosing to download and install the application, weather features, cleanning memory with a key, replacing the wallpaper and focus carousel. These features have been integrated into the Android desktop, both to avoid the trouble which to allow users to download and install third-party softwares, but also save a lot of memory space for the Android system.3. Testing and verifying the Android desktop. Testing tool is an Android TV box which was developed in my laboratory. Testing methods includes unit testing, functional testing and performance testing. Unit testing is done in the development process. Functional testing is done after Launcher has been installed on Android TV box to have an overall test of each function. Performance testing is done to see whether the efficiency of each function to meet the needs of users.This design has been a significant optimization on the basis of the native Android desktop. It can give users very good experience effect, and meet the demand of users for Android TV box products.
