The Seismological Bureau of Hebei Province is the government organization responsiblefor the earthquake monitoring and earthquake disaster prevention. It has jurisdiction overmore than160stations, which cover most areas of Hebei province. The stations are able tomonitor the earthquakes over1.5magnitudes and send the messages in no longer than5to10minutes. However, with most of the stations located in remote areas, it make difficult formaintenance staff to check the information from the stations and help documents and tounable to recover the appliances in time, thus resulting in many inconvenience for the staff inHebei Seismological Bureau. Hence, we need to set up a management system which iscapable of monitoring the stations’ running conditions at real time and inquiry of any neededinformation at any time.In order to have the master of the stations’ information under any circumstances, mobileterminal (especially mobile phone), becomes the client of the first choice. While at the sametime, mobile phone is also the main communication tool for current users. Among the OS ofmobile phone, Android, iOS and Windows take the dominant place in the market, particularlyAndroid system. Android has enjoyed high popularity from many users in return for itsdelicate interface, stable performance and good users experience since2008. Therefore, thispaper is organized in Android system as the application platform, computer equipped withTomcat server as the backend server, and Wifi as the communication interaction methodbetween mobile phones and computers.Specifically, this paper is a design and implementation of the equipment monitoring andstations information inquiry bases on Android and Java EE. First, the research backgroundand present research situation are introduced. Next, the requirement of the whole system isdesigned, including the use case diagram and the crucial use process concerning the system.Then, the framework of the system is established and then elaborated. After that, the functionsof Android and server are implemented and then the system is tested and deployed to a fullstretch. The last but one, the subsystem of document downloading is designed and implemented. Finally, a summary of the paper is concluded, explaining the disadvantages andfollowing plan.The main functions and characteristics are as follows:1.The system is divided into front-end and back-end, of which the former one fits thoseworking staff of every station and center, while the latter one is suitable for manager of thissystem. The frontend use the information from Android phones’ displaying station andequipment and is capable of transferring files, of which the breakdown information is themost important. And the back-end apply a browser to manage the information from stationsand equipment.2. Android mobile phone terminal use the Sudoku as the main interface, application listcomponent to display other interfaces. It is also combined with XML layout files, XMLresources files which complete the type set of the interface and reference of images and someother resources, thus achieving the separation of the content and the layout.3. The browser terminal makes use of the prevalent easyui component to complete themanagement of information from the stations and equipment.4.The server use the Spring MVC lightweight framework as the development frameworkand divide the server into control layer, business layer and data layer, so as to decreasecoupling degree.5. This system doesn’t apply the traditional short message communication method,replaced by Push Technology. And also it employ Baidu positioning and Google map to showthe line map of the stations. After the development of this system is done, application designschema and reconstitution technology will be further studied to improve the performance andreadability of the codes.
