The Android Platform Network Tv Desktop System And Function Module Design And Implementation

Android is an open source operating system, it based on Linux. Initially, it ismainly designed for the mobile phone, but now it gradually extended to the Tablet PC orother areas. IPTV system is mainly composed by STB and high-definition TV. Bigscreen TV is used as the display terminal, and the STB provide a variety of multimediafeatures and network services to enrich the function of the IPTV. Now, Android hasbecome the best choice of TV manufacturers when they are looking for the operatingsystem of their products.This thesis is based on an Android IPTV project, and it describes the process ofapplication software development in Android STB. This design is according to thethoughts of the concepts of the partners, and it could be easily modified, high-resolutiondisplay supported, suitable for the TV remote controller, avoiding the insecurity due tothe high degree of openness of the system. This design contains several keytechnologies of Android, such as text and graphics display technologies, interactivemenu, Android Animation, XML parsing technology, multi-language support, SQLitedatabase, Android Broadcast. By using those key technologies, we carry out the finaldesign. It could play cable TV show, pictures, music, HD movies, and it supports WebBrowser, network video. Users could play Android applications on it, and they coulddownload software from internet. Detailed designs are divided into two parts: launcherdesign and functional modules design. The design of launcher will be introduced inchapter4. It is mainly related to Android animation technology, XML file parsingtechnology and android display technology. The design of functional modules will beintroduced in chapter5. It is mainly related to database technology, interactive menutechnology and network-related technology. In addition, the launcher design is separatedfrom the content management, partners could adjust the interface system by simplymodify the configuration file.This design is based on Android system, so it has a good versatility on Androidequipment. According to small changes, it could also run on the other Android platform like Tablet PC. This design has the good performance on the partner’s hardwareplatform. Now, some equipment, with this system running on it, has been sold in someforeign countries and ShenZhen region of China.
