Gyro-travelling-wave tube is widely used in radar, electronic countermeasures, communications, navigation, satellite remote sensing and remote sensing field due to its advantage of bandwidth, gain, dynamic range and noise etc,. Since high voltage pulse power is one of the most important parts in the system of a Cyclotron TWT, the performance of the power supply will directly affect the working state of cyclotron cathode. The needs for high voltage, high power, and stable and reliable performance of high voltage pulse power supply is becoming more and more urgent.At present, the traditional linear modulator is adopted in the similar high voltage power supply used in China. Due to the large-sized PFN, expensive vacuum tube and complex auxiliary circuit, the system is of huge volume, complex structure and low efficiency, which greatly affect the reliability of the machine. Due to the constant progress of the new materials and technology, the rapid development of semiconductor device provides a good condition to solve the above problem. And it is gradually applied in the fields such as radar and accelerator, obtaining great achievements.Based on above-mentioned problems, the research subject of the paper is the design and realization of 150 kW Gyro-travelling-wave tube pulse source system. And the research mainly focus on the phase shifting full bridge switching power supply, series parallel technology of solid-state switch and PC control based on PPI protocol. The main research contents are as follows:1)The method of realizing the high power and high voltage DC power supply is studied and paralleled resonant inverting with stabled frequency is put forward. The phase shift control method which was adopted to realize output of high voltage DC power supply is put forward to meet the requirement of the high power output. The output method of several power supplies in parallel is used to achieve output power. Synchronized signal control method is adopted to make six power supplies work at the same time to satisfy the requirement of power supply’s output ripple. And the voltage parameters are used as the control variable of closed loop, so the output requirements of high power and high voltage power supply are realized.2)The application problems of series and parallel connected solid state switch device like IGBT is studied. By analyzing dynamic and static pressure parameters, consistency of driving signal, module difference, current limiting protection, over-current protection and the influence of distributed parameter for pulse waveform to ensure safety work of series and parallel connection. The simulation software PSPICE software is combined to analyze and to put forward the corresponding solutions. And combining with the actual test waveforms, the feasibility of the switching scheme is verified.3)In consideration of control requirements of the system, the control method of Siemens PLC module is mainly studied. And communication realization method of principal computer based on PPI protocol is researched to achieve remote data communication. Siemens PLC and programming software STEP7-Micro/WIN are used to achieve control function of the control system. Visual Basic6.0 is used as interface development tool of remote principal computer to achieve remote communication with PLC, thus solving problems like system interfere, signal isolation and operation safety. Then the control function for system digitalized, modular and intellectual is realized.
