In the era of rapid development of modern wireless communication systems, the microwave power divider is heavily used in microwave components, microwave networks and other systems. For example, it can be applied in the phase-array radar system to distribute the transmitting power to each transmitter unit. Therefore, the deep research work of the smaller size, lighter weight, lower cost, and better performance of the power divider can effectively solve practical engineering needs. According to the actual needs of today’s engineering, this paper does some related research work about the design of the power divider with a wider bandwidth, a lower insertion loss, a better port isolation and phase coherence, and a lower volume. The main work of this thesis is as follows:First, the paper outlines the significance and development background of the power divider, and with a brief overview of the current research status of ultra-wideband power divider at home and abroad and a brief introduction of the contents of this article.Secondly, the basic theory of power splitter design is expounded, such as 3-port network, the 4-port network, Wilkinson splitters theory, while several important technical indicators are explained in detail.Then, the thesis studies the power divider theory of the T-junction waveguide and the magic T waveguide. Based on the analysis of the traditional magic T power divider,the paper discusses three new magic T waveguide structure, and analyzes their advantages and disadvantages.Finally, the thesis presents a new kind of magic T power divider. Every part of this magic T power divider is flush with the lower surface of object, which is an approximate plane structure. The article designs a power divider with a relative bandwidth from 6.5G to 10 G. The reflection coefficients of the device of each port are lower than the-23 d B.Meanwhile between two output ports, the isolation is more than35 d B. The output curve is an approximate Horizontal line, and the fluctuation is less than 0.1d B. Because of the symmetrical structure, the amplitude and the phase of two output ports are completely consistent. By using CST software, we get the simulation curve, while processing of the real object. Then the power divider is tested by the vector network analyzer and made the analysis of the test results.
