Design And Implementation Of The Monitoring System For Virtual Servers Based On Jail

With the continuous development of digitization, networking and the popularization of information industry in recent years, kinds of archives are pressing for getting rid of the business process of manual operation to configure professional information management system. The server virtualization technology can improve the utilization of server resources, so we integrate various applications of archives management function into the virtual servers. This topic originates from the digitization construction project of the Xi’an archives, which dedicates to solve the monitor and control management in server virtualization.Based on the functional requirements, system structure and operating environment,we design and implement the monitoring system for the virtual server based on Jail,which uses the C-S mode to communicate. At first, along with the research background of the project, this paper describes my actual word during the study period, which includes the design and implement of agent and client. Then some key technologies used in the paper, such as Jail and SNMP are introduced. After that, this paper makes a design for hardware and software structure and function modules according to the analysis of requirements. Finally the key functions about agent and GUI are designed and implemented in detail.Through the actual test cases, this article verifies the correctness and reliability for the functions of monitor and control, which draws a conclusion that the monitoring system archived in the paper can meet the requirements accurately. In short, the research in the paper perfectly meets the relevant requirement for the monitoring system and it can highly valuable in server virtualization.
