With the rapid development of mobile communication systems and wireless access systems, various wireless access technologies complement each other to form a heterogeneous wireless converged network. To allow users to enjoy seamless service continuously, an integrated resource management mechanism to integrate a variety of wireless network resources is needed. Wherein, selection and admission control of radio access networks are important ways of leading different services to access different networks. This paper first introduces the related theory and background of access selection and admission control of heterogeneous wireless networks, and then put forward the related algorithms.First, this paper proposes a network selection algorithm based on multi-attribute decision-TAU-MADM algorithm, taking the network objective attributes and user preferences into account. The algorithm has two decisions, using TOPSIS, AHP, ANP, the utility function and so on. Simulation results show that the algorithm takes the network load balancing into account, reducing the average handoff rate and the average handoff blocking rate effectively.Then, this paper studies a prediction method based on Kalman filter, which can ensure the accuracy of network selection, minimize the network load and get more accurate network parameters using less measurement. Simulation results show that the predicted value is closer to the real value than the measured value. The KTAU-MADM algorithm considers the actual situation of the network more comprehensively than TAU-MADM algorithm, makes intelligent handover decision effectively, reduces the average handoff times and maximizes user satisfaction.Finally, this paper studies a joint call admission control algorithm based on different services-BDS-JCAC algorithm, considering network traffic load conditions, the location of the mobile terminal, the received signal strength of the mobile terminal and velocity under the circumstance of real-time service and non real-time service and monitoring network load changes in real time. Simulation results show that BDS-JCAC algorithm considers load balancing, uses system resources efficiently and improves the resource utilization of the system.
