Research On Cloud Service Provider Selection Based On Multiple Levels Paired Comparison Method

The appearance and widely use of cloud computing as a new network computing service model greatly facilitates the users to access and use a variety of network information resources and services, which made cloud computing progress and become a research focus areas of Internet. With the promotion of cloud computing technology and popularity of cloud service applications, a lot of different cloud service providers and related products appeared on the market, which results in the problem of user selection difficulty. In order to solve the problem, a new selection framework to guide users in selection process is needed. At the same time, cloud computing as an emerging technology, is not proven and not familiar yet. So people are not entirely understood which result in great ignorance and uncertainty in the process of cloud services introduction and providers selection to users. Thus, we need a scientific and rational approach to solve this problem.The undetermined problem is common problem in the process of decision-making. Nowadays, face variety of undetermined problems, there are two different main methods:absolute preference-based decision-making methods, and the relative preference-based decision-making process in which the relative preference-based decision-making method is also called program pairwise comparison method. Existing programs pairwise comparison method is generally constructed single grade on comparative relationship, and can not express better than, worse than, the indifference and uncertainty four relationships simultaneously. So we urgently need a more rational, more flexible approach of decision-making to solve more complex scenarios.This paper focuses on multi-grade program paired comparison method of cloud-based service selection related issues. First of all, a brief introduction is made for existing cloud services, then classify the existing cloud service providers in detailed so that to expand program set of cloud services provider choice, and present a application framework for cloud service provider to select. Then, a theoretical study is provided on the decision-making process of scheme selection, by setting an identification framework and rank score value to depict the uncertainty in the reality more rationally. Then by introducing the interval value, possibility degree and other related concepts to design a multi-grade program paired comparison method completely, and introduces the basic steps of the method. Finally, for a problem of choosing a cloud service provider for reality enterprises, through the cloud service provider selection framework and program paired comparison method and the existing program set, presented a multi-level cloud services selection process which based on suppliers’ evaluation and make a practical application for the background of manufacturing.
