With the rapid development of telecommunication business, power consumption of communication enterprises has increased enormously. In order to reduce energy cost, communication enterprises have carried out various forms of energy conservation and emissions reduction tasks. Through continuous improvement of new network equipments and installation of energy-efficient products on existing network equipment, enterprises have reduced energy consumption. Hence, it is necessary to develop an energy management system for these energy-efficient products.Currently the operating status of equipments are monitored only through real-time power environment monitoring system, and the effect of energy conservation and emissions reduction can only be simply counted by comparing the energy bill before and after the renovation. This approach is neither accurate nor efficient. Due to the lack of a unified management system, it is difficult to undertake a thorough analysis of the energy reduction data.In order to address these problems, this thesis designed and implemented a power management system. The installation of smart meters enables the power management system to collect and analyze data from all in- network energy users, such as engine room, base station and business hall. This system can intelligently manage the energy consumption in various scenarios centrally, and realize the automation of the collection, calculation and storage of the energy consumption data. It also offers an appropriate choice of methodology to analyze and evaluate energy consumption data. Based on these results, it offers basis and advice for energy consumption work to realize energy saving.
