Memristor is a new kind of two-terminal device, it has a simple metal/dielectric/metal structure and many advantages, such as, low voltage and power consumption, high speed and ease of integration. As the fourth kind of circuit components, memristor has different electrical properties with resistor, capacitor and inductor, and it cannot be replaced by these three components, it can be widely used in storage, analog circuits, digital circuits and other circuits.Firstly, this paper discusses the related characteristics of memristor, the basic concepts of memristor are introduced, including basic structure, working principle of memristor, etc.; Current voltage characteristic of memristor is analyzed, and the model of memristor’s current voltage characteristic is discussed; Resistance change mechanisms of memristor is studied, including conductive filament mechanism and barrier mechanism.Rewritable resistive random access memory device based on memristor have been studied, rewritable resistive random access memory devices based on memristor have been trial-manufactured,then the devices are tested and analyzed, they can realize multilevel storage and work properly after rewriting for 104 times, datas can be stored for 10 years. The radiation-hardness characteristic of the devices are studied at the same time, the method of total dose gamma(γ) radiation experiment is adopted, the devices can still realize resistive switch after radiation, the resistance of high resistance state and low resistance state all increase, but the devices can still work normally, which shows good radiation resistivity.Memristor based write once read many times memory devices have been studied, the devices based on HfO2 film have been trial-manufactured. The devices can switch from high resistance state to low resistance state, then the device, resistance decrease is due to the growth of conductive filament, the devices have good performance on reading endurance and retention.The memristor based quantizer of analog to digital converter(ADC) is studied, the related knowledge of ADC is introduced firstly, including the basic structure of ADC and working principle of the Flash ADC, then the quantizer of ADC based on memristor has also designed, the SPICE simulation model of memristor has also been established, and simulation has carried on quantizer of a four bits ADC based on memristor, the simulation results show that the quantizer can realize quantitative function, at the same time, a simplified quantizer board level circuit is made to verify the designed quantizer circuit feasibility, which could distinguish five voltage states.
