Design And Application Of Coal Transportation Management Platform

As the State is opening up the coal market, coal enterprises are facing more and more fierce competitions. The key to development of coal enterprises is transportation and sales. However, traditional business system and the by-hand coal transportation and sales model have limitations such as difficulty of information collection, redundant sales process, error-prone, and delay of communications etc., and cannot accommodate the needs of current coal enterprise development. The key to the survival and development of a coal enterprise is how to use advanced network and information technology to boost work efficiency and to optimize business process, in order to have fast response to market needs.This article takes account of the reality of current management department and the current development of management information system, and proposes novel designs of management information systems for coal enterprises and their implementations. This study has the following contributions: first, this article analyses current development status of domestic and oversea coal enterprises; second, to deal with current issues of coal transportation and sales management systems, this article offers new information models; third, this study completes requirement analysis and overall designs of the whole system and implements the system using three layer B/S model with Visual Studio.NET 2005 development environment and SQL Server 2005 DBMS; forth, this study also tested the system using standardized process and verifies that this system has met with the functionality requirements.This system implements automatic management of coal enterprise transportation and sales by combining the business process with easy-to-use information management platform. It’s proved in practice that this system offers system support for transportation and sales pipelining in coal enterprises, optimizes management process, improves work efficiency, cuts the cost for enterprise management, and boosts strongly competitiveness of coal enterprises.
