With the development of the hardware & software technology as well as the improvement of people’s ideology, a lot of student management systems have been developed and widely used in the schools of various levels. However, only a few management systems can be used by class adviser for their daily work, and there is no such a widely used system. However, student management of a class adviser is the center of student management work in almost all the schools, especially in the secondary vocational &technical schools. Therefore, it is necessary for us to develop an information management system for the daily management of class advisers.At present, the Internet of things technology is developing rapidly and being widely applied in many fields. The class adviser management system we developed for CHENGDU INDUSTRIAL VOCATIONAL&TECHNICAL COLLEGE is based on its actual situation and the Internet of things technology. The system will obtain students’ attendance information automatically via the Internet of things technology and it can fully meet the needs of the student information management, so as to realize the digital task of class advisers’ daily work. The system can help alleviate intensity of class advisers’ daily management work and improve their work efficiency. It can provide detailed records of student performances in all aspects in school and the querying function, which helps making all the school management work more and more standardized and systematic while reducing work intensity of class advisers.The thesis described the background of this topic, analyzed the common problems in daily management faced by class advisers in secondary vocational & technical schools, put forward the building of student attendance platform with the Internet of things technology, and considered the actual needs of the class adviser’s daily management work, designed and implemented the student management system for class advisers in secondary vocational & technical school based on Internet of things technology. The thesis described all the details of the whole process of system development phases, such as demand analysis, system design, database design, function implementation, etc. And it introduced the detailed information of some hardware platform and software technology used in the system development process. Besides, the thesis also introduced the application of database query optimization technology in this management system.Trail operation of this system has begun in our school, and obtained lots of feedback information form front-line advisers during the trial operation. General comments on this system is that it’s strong utility can help reduce intensity of the class adviser’s daily management work, which basically achieved the original intention of the design and development of this system.In the future use of this system, we will continue to make improvement based on feedbacks, new situations(upgrade of hardware and software platform) as well as new system demands, and make every efforts to meet new requirements of school development.
