The Passive Millimeter Wave(PMMW) Imaging System, measuring the object’s millimeter wave radiation energy, is used to achieve imaging according to the difference of radiation energy between the object and its background. It can improve the quality of the results by image preprocessing, super-resolution imaging processing, target detecting and tracking and so on. As the system doesn’t take the initiative to radiate electromagnetic wave externally, it has the advantages of safety, concealment, moderate resolution etc. Detecting the hidden contraband on human body by PMMW Imaging System, which is more and more recognized and valued by various countries, is the international research focus in recent years.As the display and control terminal of the PMMW Imaging System, the embedded system ARM, meeting the requirement of miniaturization, needs a lot of energy in the implementation of underlying driver. And its processing speed is far lower than a laptop computer because of its single CPU. With the fast development of the laptop, it have qualitative change in its size, performance and appearance. If it can be applied as the display and control terminal to the PMMW Imaging System, the imaging system will have great improvement on portability, reliability, effectiveness and so on.At the same time, moving target detection technology is one of the core technologies of the imaging system. It uses the temperature, shape and differences between motion characteristics and background, to detect the object by image filtering, image segmentation and positioning method.This dissertation, based on the actual research project, has deeply researched on the display and control terminal and concealed moving target detection technology of PMMW Imaging System. The main work and achivements are as follows:1. Completed the overall scheme design of the display and control terminal, according to the overall scheme of the system, combining work flow and structure characteristics of the actual system. It includes that the selection of hardware platform, transport interface and software development environment.2. Completed the interface design between the display and control terminal and the overall system, and writing and debugging application program, including the implementation of data transceiver of the servo scanning mechanism via a serial port communication and the implementation of data transmission of the signal processing unit via the network communication.3. Completed the design of Graphic User Interface(GUI) and the software realization of the display and control terminal, including the realization of the keys’ function of the image scanning and control area and the image playback and contrast area, so that it can receive the image datas, display, save, play back and contrast images.4. Because the image segmentation will cause a lot of issues, such as the background interference, in the presence of complex scenario. This dissertation has researched and discussed a target detection algorithm based on the extraction of the Regions Of Interest(ROI). This new algorithm can narrow the scope of target detection effectively and improve the target detection probability.
