This system takes the computer technology and the network technology as the foundation. Jinzhou High-tech Administrative Committee restructures office business types, standardizes business processes, and improves office efficiency between different individuals, departments, units of the cooperation and exchange efficiently, based on the information platform. Achieving a set of efficient and convenient office automation system can be more streamlined and efficient to collect and process information. It offers decision-making more reliable and more comprehensive information collection and judgment basis.This paper aims to achieve workflow automation, file transfer and electronic mail, the interactive web server, mobile calculation and copy, and the establishment of data connection and access center, the five major functions through research on the design and application of office automation system on the Lotus Domino / Notes platform. The targets of the system design are: satisfy the office staff to deal with daily affairs, assist the completion of the work between departments; reduces inefficient artificial communication and paper documents archive and transfer; be clear about responsibilities between the inter sections and try to avoid buck passing phenomenon to instead of collaborate between departments. The principles of the system design are: humanist principle, forward-looking principle, practicality principle, usability principle, flexibility principle and real time principle.The main modules of the system function designs are including personal office, document management, process management, system management, document management, meeting management, collaborative office,the seven modules. The users can visit high-tech Zone Lan(local area network, LAN) access, manage and share information, which uses the Lotus Domino / notes based on client / server technology. It can be further expanded to link to other websites. It can realize the internal users to create, exchange and other functions in the entire system. After the design of the system and the installation of the test server, the system starts to test whether the server process runs nomally, whether the application detection starts or exits normally; whether the system can receive mails regularly; whether the user permissions can be designed in accordance with the normal use; whether the dispatch process management module can connect nomally according to the design; whether each user interface form to satisfy the requirements; whether the document management module can collect and sort the document; whether the users can check documents; whether the personal office module can receive mails regularly in the default system; whether the staff forum function can create new themes and realize the normal recovery in the personal office management module;whether the flow management module can play a normal control of the system and the inquiry process; whether the set functions can be used normally; whether the management modules can manage and supervise the operation of the system.After a period of testing and commissioning, the office automation system operation is normal basically. It does not appear serious system errors and faults. Processing data are right basically. The system function modules can satisfy the needs of specific work basically. The interfaces of the system are clear and concise and sequential convergence is reasonable. With good flexibility and expansibility of the permissions settings, it reaches the general requirements basically.
