With the development of national economy, the structure and operation mode of modern power system expands complexity, the security and economic operation of the power system takes more and more attention of us. Because of computer’s powerful computing capabilities, using it to calculate、analyze the index of the power system is very fast、convenient and accurate. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to explore the power information systems’ design and development, in order to easily、intuitively and quickly come to the results of the flow calculation and analyze, the specific studies are as follows:First, the flow calculation program is developed based on the Newton-Raphson algorithm, and a practical five-node network example is used to test the program.Second, a power management of information systems is designed based on Delphi application development tools. The function of the system is analyzed in detailed and the power information system database is successfully completed. Then four tables is established in database, respectively for node 、branch、generator and the result data, and each table field properties detailed settings in the database on the basis of each module features detailed design, thus completing the design and development of the entire system.Third, based on the Delphi application development tool, visual power information system software is realized. The paper used IEEE30 electricity network to test the system, which verify the system is good, high computational efficiency and accurate. The software has a simple and friendly interface, users can easily apply it to manage the data of generators、lines、transformers and analyze. It initially realizes the flow calculation、analysis and comparison of the actual power system, and comes to a good result.
