The optimization of power system's reactive power plays an important role in the stable and economical operation of the power system.The optimization of static operation reactive power is studied in this paper.Firstly,the generation of reactive power optimization is introduced.The research purpose and significance of reactive power optimization is described.Several kinds of typical optimization algorithm is briefly described.In which,the principle and characteristic of genetic algorithm is emphasized.Secondly,the principle of the compensation of reactive power is summarized,and whose influences to the voltage loss and power loss are analyzed from the aspect of theorem.It demonstrates that the reactive power compensation can improve the voltage quality of power system,reduce the power loss and ensure the safety and stability of the power system.Then,how to improve the voltage quality and reduce the power loss of the power system under a given operation mode is studied in this paper.In the following,the mathematical model of reactive power optimization is established.The minimum power loss is chosen as the object function.And the bound of PQ nodes' voltage and PV nodes' reactive power is deal with the penalty function,which simplifies the solution of reactive power optimization.In addition,the methods for power flow calculation is introduced as well.Considering the calculation speed and the calculation error,P-Q decomposition algorithm is used to calculate the power flow,which effectively reduce the time used to calculate.Then,genetic algorithm is used to solve the reactive power optimization problem.Some changes in encoding manner and genetic operation is conducted based on the standard genetic algorithm to enhance the performance of genetic algorithm.And finally,the proposed algorithm is applied to an IEEE 30 nodes system and the power system of Danleng county area to verify the effect of the algorithm based on the MATLAB.In the process of IEEE 30 nodes optimization calculation,compared with the conventional power flow calculation,the decreased magnitude of the system's active power loss is 0.65 MW,the decreased rate is about 9.17%.The results proved that the presented algorithm has high computing efficiency and good convergence ability.The reactive power operation optimization based on the genetic algorithm can efficiently improve the voltage stability and reduce the network power loss.
