Abstract/Summary:
Lighting has taken a great part in human’s history all the way. Since man can make the fire from the wood, from the torches to the oil lamps, the fire was the only light source for thousands of years. Since the filament lamp was invented, we have entered the century of electric lighting. For the past 100 years, our life has changed a lot by the filament light bulb. Nowadays, the filament light bulbs have been disused gradually in result of its inefficiency and poor energy saving. The new type of green and energy saving light source is appearing including the CFL and the LED. However, the technology of LED is imperfect, which leads to the great cost and inferior quality. So the CFL will take an important part in our life before the LED being widely used.Based on the theory of half-bridge resonance circuit, this thesis designed a kind of compact-fluorescent-lamps driving IC, which primarily used in medium and small power electronics barrette. This CFL driving IC with two power MOSFET integrated inside can constitute a half-bridge resonance circuit. This IC can generate a low-voltage square signal itself, after transformation, there are two square waves with a deadtime between them, which can driver the highside and the lowside power MOSFET separately. And the output of the IC is a high-voltage square wave. The frequency of the output and the warm-up time can be set up by peripheral capacitance, the highside power supply can float by using an external bootstrap capacitance, the lowside power supply can be gotten by high voltage supply. When in regular working, the voltage is 310 V, and the voltage can reach to 600 V. The deadtime is 0.5μs, which can prevent the two power MOSFET open at the same time.This paper presents the theory and the characteristics of the CFL, gives the requirement of CFL operation, and analyzes the composition and characteristics of the half-bridge resonance circuit. Then gives the detail design of 4 subcircuits, bandgap voltage reference, oscillator, under-voltage latching, driver. Using the Spectre, gives the simulation of the 4 blocks in the process of CSMC, 0.5μm, 600 V BCD, and the outcome analysis. Finally, the highside part and lowside part of this IC are simulated.
