Technology for Life, along with the rise of the Internet of Things and the improvement of people’s home philosophy, home automation has become a pressing need and been more and more popular.In order to allow people to get the convenience, safety and comfort of home life, smart home puts home’s devices into a network by computer technology, communication technology, and the devices are centrally managed and controlled. Current research on smart home presents flourishing situation, the biggest bottleneck hindering their development is that there is no uniform industry standard and household products incompatible with each other. Most of smart home systems cost too much, and they can not cover the low-end market.So the study of smart home still has great practical significance.Compared with traditional wired communications technology, the wireless one has characteristics like lower cost, better scalability. Through analysing and studying ZigBee’s technical characteristics, protocol stacks, network topologies and applications constitute, it’s be found that the short-range wireless communication technology ZigBee is relatively suitable for smart home systems.Combined with the demand of the market and the system, this thesis presents a smart home system architecture program which is suitable for low-end market.The program makes infrared appliances and 2.4G devices can be added to the home network by connecting to control center. After control terminal(phone or tablet) having got in touch with control center, system users can use the system, also can operate these devices remotely. ZigBee is the technology what the 2.4G devices use for networking.Based family need, the tree of ZigBee network is first builded, control terminal connects to the control center of the smart home system via Wi-Fi mode, the control center communicates with ZigBee coordinate node by serial port, and then a control protocol is designed for control terminal and control center, control center and ZigBee network. It’s a formed communication path that from the control terminal to the ZigBee node who connects to home devices.Each ZigBee node can be connected to a dozen household equipment, the number of devices, device type and connecting node pin number are not fixed, therefore, how to acquire the type and location of the equipment has become the key. This thesis proposes a program about manually entered the device information and stores it in a SQLite database to achieve equipment acquisition. This way makes it’s not fixed that home device connecting to ZigBee node pins,you can choose the pin according to the actual situation.The thesis builds control network by using CC2530 ZigBee module, designs software based on ZStack protocol stack, and implements family lamp control, indoor temperature measurement, gas leak detection and air quality testing. Finally at the control terminal(Andriod phone) these four parts are tested.
