The radiometer is very important in military affairs and environmental sciences, such as remote sensing, security check and guidance system. The MMW(microwave and millimeter-wave) radiometer receiver front-end employs more direct detection structure. As the pivotal component of the MMW radiometer, the MMW amplified detection circuit plays a decisive role to system performance index. Compared with domestic technology, the foreign technology research for W-band stated early, so it plays a dominant position. This thesis employs HMIC(hybrid monolithic integrated circuit) to design the W-band amplified detection circuit.Firstly, this thesis provides an introduction to the basic characteristics of MMW, radiometer front-ends and development trends at home and abroad, and it also shows research significance and specific indicator of this task.Secondly, according to the subject’s index, this thesis provides the whole design scheme of the circuit and the index prediction of all components.Thirdly, this thesis introduces the fundamental and index of the LNA(low noise amplifier). According to the index prediction, this thesis chooses appropriate LNA chip. Then, it introduces the fundamental of the video amplifier, and it chooses appropriate operational amplifier and then test it.Forthly, this thesis introduces the MMW waveguide-probe-microstrip transition and it shows the test results of the material object of the transition. Then,describes the fundamental and main technology index of detector. It designs three different scheme for the implementation of w-band detector: microstrip,coplanar waveguide and MMIC(Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit). After being tested, scheme one is applied to the whole structure.Fifthly, this thesis analyzes the feasibility of the whole circuit index. And then it designs the cavity, the microstrip circuit, the voltage-stabilized power supply circuit of the W-band amplified detection circuit and the low-frequency PCB circuit of the video amplifier. The size and the appearance of the cavity satisfy the specification. In the end, the thesis describes the process of the debugging and the testing. And it shows the final testing results.Sixthly, the thesis summarizes the design of the whole circuit and analyzes the testing results. And then it provides the improvement measure.
