The Design And Application Of Open Laboratory Collective Platform

Laboratory is an important base for colleges and universities to develop their quality education and nurture students’ innovative and practical abilities. Experimental teaching plays an irreplaceable part in university teaching and students’ nurturing, and is extremely vital to the quality as well as the results of teaching for those higher vocational colleges. The quality of laboratories and their management has a direct impact on the implementation of experimental teaching. However, compared to theoretical teaching, experimental teaching in our school is weak in terms of management, implementation and supervision. The open collective laboratory platform is an important platform that aims at helping to achieve comprehensive informational management of the computer laboratories of Yichun Vocational College and improve the level of its laboratory management. With aims to advance students’ practical abilities and Oriented by providing comprehensive problem-solving plans to the computer laboratory management, the open collective laboratory platform is a significant supported platform to the informational management of laboratories.This platform can help achieve the goal of informational management of laboratories; as a result the efficiency of laboratory management can be improved significantly. What’s more, students can make use of this platform to carry out different experiments according to their own plans. This type of open experimental teaching can improve theoretical teaching and bring students’ creativity and talent into full play; it is also helpful to the individualized development of students as well as the cultivation of thinking and innovation abilities of students’. The platform, managing the laboratories and the process of experimental teaching with advanced informational methods, is able to improve the quality as well as the result of teaching and raise the utilization rate of the laboratory resources.This thesisexplains in detail the developing background of the platform, the existing problems of laboratory management from both China and abroad, the technologies involved and the design and realization of the system as a whole. In the process of analyzing and designing, I have investigated in the method of laboratory management and the implementation of experimental teaching, confirmed the systematic plan and technologies to use and chosen to adopt the B/S system as the theoretical base of the open collective laboratory platform. I also have finished systematic research, demand analysis, systematic design and database design guided by “the thought of software project”, and realized the goal of laboratory management, experimental team, experimental teaching, an open laboratory, equipment management, appliance management, daily working, database and report forms, system maintenance and other functional sections through the adoption of Microsoft NET3.5 and SQL Server 2005. The above-mentioned facts have effectively improved the work efficiency of the laboratories and provided an efficient and convenient information platform to the students, the teachers, the laboratory management offices and the school officials, bringing standard, flowing and informational management to the laboratories of Yichun vocational college.
