Since Internet Revolution with mobile connection, the whole world is entering a highly-connecting and statistical information evolving era. Social Media’s prosperous development reflects the trend in information distribution area, with a global online community is forming. Along with the Internet, Social Media improve information transaction profoundly in its interactivity, convenience and coherence. With lower cost, Social Media will exceed traditional media channel and become an essential part of future media.To satisfy the time’s trend and market demand, domestic insurance industry is in urgent need of Social Media practice to optimize customer service and inner management. At present, some insurance companies have made some progress in marketing& sales, customer service and business process improvement. The trend of multi-operation is emerging, especially in marketing& sales, the most deeply rooted area of Social Media. Also, the cooperation among Social Media applications and other traditional channels is growing.Considering industry background, the author concentrates on the domestic insurance application of Social Media. By viewing from multiple subjects——Media, Finance, Society and Law, the exploration on the problems of domestic insurance practice on Social Media has analyzed the current situation, defaults and the causing reasons. On the basis of large quantities of martial, this paper makes use the methods of case study and comparison circling the subject. Meanwhile an econometrics model is introduced to enhance the scientific persuasion of the topic. In the end through analyzing the international insurance experience and illumination along with the history of domestic insurance& Social Media, this paper comes up with an innovating idea and thoughts on domestic insurance Social Media development on the fundamental arrangement and research on the practice of insurance Social Media, in the hope of some aid for domestic insurance industrial practice.
