TDOA(Time difference of arrival) location system,which is also named the dual-curve location system,is a vital passive location method. It is based on the time difference of signal arrived to different stations received by three or more stations to determine the position of the target wanted to be located.In this paper, based on the Time Difference of Arrival(TDOA) localization technology, through the analyze of the transfer characteristic of the vibration wave transfer on the solid surface, we use a system which determine the time differences of the wave arrive to different monitoring points on solid surface to measure the location of the hit point, and process the location equation, also confirmed the energy decay equation of the vibration wave transfer on the solid surface through the experiment.In practical applications, we hope to be able to use more low-cost device to achieve out desired function, so we use a common personal computer, a sound card, speakers and a hard rubber horn board to establish a small experimental system and also designed vibration wave detection algorithm, localization algorithm and error handling. Time difference between the solid surface vibration wave positioning technology transfer were verified. The advantage of this system is the set of experiments using a variety of low-cost device, locate and resolve the difference in the time synchronization problem, this method can also be applied to a number of other related fields.
