With the development and application of computer science and technology, information management system has become the cornerstone of survival and development of enterprises. In order to achieve benefit maximization, the enterprise must reduce the production costs, shorten the production cycle, improve the customer service, and establish the production management system meeting enterprise requirement to ensure that the information can be delivered in real time accurately, ultimately achieve the purpose of serving the business management decisions.Based on the ERP theory, with the production management for foundry workshop of XingTai Mill Roll Equipmet Manufacturing CO.,LTD(hereinafter referred to as Equipment Company) as the research object, combining with foundry business processes, the thesis completes the design of foundry workshop production management system for equipment company with the development tool PowerBuilder and the back-end database Oracle.Firstly, upon the company organization chart based on the research on the current production situation of foundry workshop, and the system data flow diagram based on a detailed analysis of the management transaction flow, considering the company production management functional requirements, the thesis makes a detailed analysis on the production management system.Secondly, considering the actual production, the thesis divides the system into seven functional modules, including order management, process management, production management, quality management, materials management, statistical analysis, and system maintenance, and outlines the role and function of each module.Thirdly, following the basic principles of database design, the thesis shows the parts of entity relationship diagram(E-R) of the system, gives designation examples of the main database tables, and introduces the database.Finally, the thesis briefly describes the principles and methods of interface design, and designs the interfaces of functional modules divided before, shows the key interfaces in production, and describes them in detail according to the production process.The thesis lays the foundation for the ERP system development and implementation of Equipment Company.
