With the rapid development of computer technology and social economy, theaters, amusement parks, stadiums and other occasions needing of longdistance transmission of high-quality audio and professional audio applications on the transmission system is an increasing need, but audio transmission system which based on traditional analogue technology has been unable to meet the scale of the system for voice transmission and transmission quality requirements. In this context, the use of increasingly sophisticated technology to transmit audio signals Ethernet becomes necessarily, the Cobra Net technology in this design is based on Ethernet technology, professional audio transmission technology.This design of the audio transmission system is commissioned by the enterprises, the purpose is to design an audio transport system based on Cobra Net technology.The system consists of the core board and expansion backplane. Core board is the core function module(CM-2) used to support the Cobra Net technology. Expansion backplane is composed of AD / DA module, MCU control module and the communication function module and so on. This system can make use of Ethernet to complete bi-directional 8-channel audio signal input and output. Parameter settings in the transfer process can be controlled by PC or IPC communication interface on the backplane.In this design, according to information provided by Cirrus Logic Inc., the core board PCB is designed and according to system functional requirements the expansion backplane is designed. In addition, the system firmware customized to meet the system requirements, and microcontroller controlling program coded to control the specific transfer functions of the systems.The entire transmission system research experiencedseveral phases such as to determine the design requirements, read the information Cobra Net technology, select the audio codec chip, the core board PCB design, backplane schematic and PCB design, microcontroller programming, overall debugging, system testing,and so on. The design of the audio transmission system which has been commissioned by the square test has been applied.
