Key Technologies Of Flash Redirection And Implementation Of Flash Container

With the development of virtualization technology, platform and virtualization become the general trends in the area of enterprise IT infrastructure management. As an economic and flexible solution, desktop virtualization is attracting more and more attention. User experience is one of important criterions when evaluating a virtual desktop applications. In the real world, mature and stable virtual desktop services need to handle all kinds of user inputs and process various exceptions and errors.In applications of virtual desktop, flash redirection has been raised as an optimum method to play Flash videos on the Internet. The work principle of it is to transfer Flash instances on virtual desktop servers to the virtual desktop client. And this local rendering solution will reduce the network load and improve the quality of playback. In this study, a comprehensive investigation of virtual desktop applications and Flash redirection techniques was carried out. And improvements of the compatibility, stability and usability of Flash redirection application which base on virtual desktop services were performed, facing with the requirements of applications. The Flash redirection system designed and implemented in this article had following advantages:1. Good compatibility. This application can support a variety of LCIE browsers;2. Support playing Flash instances in Web pages with multiple HTML frames;3. Optimize the obscured area detection mechanism to improve the user experience when Flash instance is obscured by other elements in browser;4. Support policy configuration. Improving the user experience by turn on or off the redirection depending on URL;5. Robust error detecting and handling mechanism. The system can detect and deal with all kinds of errors in practice;6. To provide good user experience, Flash container on Windows client can redirect keyboard and mouse inputs to virtual desktop server.
