| Vietnamese New Year or Tet is the biggest and most important traditional festival in Vietnamese culture. Nowadays the Vietnamese still retains some traditional customs such as making sticky rice cakes, eating family reunion dinner, celebrating the New Year’s Eve, giving the gift money...However, the busy life of modern society more or less has changed the face of the original Tet. In order to facilitate life, work and people’s needs, some traditional customs of Tet is not as popular as before, on the contrary, many emerging conventions appeared and the most representative one is the variety show unified national broadcast on New Year’s Eve:"Tao Quan". This more than a decade, celebrating the New Year’s Eve with "Tao Quan" has become one of the indispensable activities of Vietnamese people. According to Chinese people say, we can say the TV show "Tao Quan" is "Vietnamese Spring Festival Gala"With "Tao Quan" as the research object, this paper is divided into five parts. The first part is introduction. The second part is to analyze the form of "Tao quan", use "Media Ritual" to interpret "Tao Quan", let us be more specific to describe and the choreography and performance measures of this program. The third part gets into the program content analysis, from the selected topics and text analysis to find out the various symptoms of Vietnamese society. From the present and the discourse of three parts, the author found that "Tao Quan" is able to stand out among so many Spring Festival TV show and also can establish its own brand, won a good reputation of the national audience, one important factor is the civilian discourse construction. Therefore, the fourth part combine the discourse theories to focus on analyzing how "Tao Quan" construct its civilian discourse system, and pointed out the purpose and meaning behind it. The fifth part is a summary and reflection. This part concluded all of study contents of this paper, pointed out the deficiencies of "Tao Quan" and tabled some proposals. |
