Qian Taiji is a scholar of textual criticism and edition and also a bibliophile from the year of Daoguang to Xianfeng in Qing Dynasty, together with his elder cousin Yiji who was given the name "Kanshi", they were named "two pearls of Jiaxing". Taiji failed in the imperial examination every time, thus, then he gave up taking the examination and devoted himself to learning knowledge. His main works include Gan Quan Xiang Ren Gao,24 volumes, Qing Fen Shi Shou Lu,26 volumes, and Hai Chang Bei Zhi,52 volumes etc, among which Gan Quan Xiang Ren,24 volumes are the most representative. His major contribution to bibliography is the works Pu Shu Za Ji. The book has not only its own pamphlets but also the collective editions. The collective editions encompass three volumes, that is, the volume 7 to volume 9 of Gan Quan Xiang Ren. He described the general situation of his collection in the form of essays which include his review on the books. All those show his unique opinion on bibliography. The book was well received in the publishing world once it was released. In terms of edition, Mr. Qian has his own thoughts. He neither made judgments subjectively, nor did he follow others. His reviews were objective, which shows the rigorous and scientific of scholas of Pu Xue. The study of his views and methods of edition has great practical significance to today's research of edition. For instance, with regard to the reprinting of Song edition, he pointed out that the scholar-bureaucrat took the Song edition without doubt, they would not correct even if there were mistakes. He takes the attitude of attaching importance to Song but not completely believing in it. As to the textual criticism, he did not support to criticize in the book; on the contrary, the form of textual criticism is much preferred. This method can preserve the original book to the best.He was good at textual criticism. Among all the books he had criticized, the more important ones are Shi Ji, pre-and post-Han Shu, Jin Shu, San Guo Zhi, Yuan Wen Lei, and Ji Yun etc. His achievements, methods and attitudes are thought-provoking to us. Learning his methods can help us better sort out the ancient works. In terms of collections, Qian had accumulated over 40,000 volumes. All these volumes are obtained in various ways, either by friends and transcribing others', or by purchasing. He holds that the collection is to accomplish the value of books and objects the deeds of keeping the books from being read by others. Instead, he often exchanges and shares books with his friends. Accordingly, he forms his own characteristics in the area, and he had his say in the prosperous era of QianJia. His research focused on textual research. The method is similar to that of Han Xue in Qing Dynasty, but it is not exclusive to Song Xue. Meanwhile, it thinks highly of its strengths. He also acknowledged the school of Tongcheng, especially Yaonai. We can see that he is compatible with different schools. As his academic thoughts are embodied in the book, therefore, it is necessary to summarize and analyze the book according to the categories, so that we can grasp his academic accomplishments.Due to the limitations of my research, the value of Gan Quan Xiang Ren is not fully exploited. Further research needs to be done by researchers. With regard to the mistakes in the paper, sincere acknowledgements to your correction.
