With the development of internet, cell phones and other new media, networknovel is becoming more and more prevalent with its popular open characteristics. In1997, Cai Zhiheng’s novel, the First Intimate Contact, was published on BBS ofTaiwan, conquering the numerous netizens within a few months; meanwhile, thepublished paper book became prevailing on both sides of the Taiwan Straits.“TheGlobal Chinese Original Works under the Banyan Network"(hereinafter referred to as" under the Banyan ") organized "the First Session of Network Literature Contest"leading to the first climax of the network novels bring in the emergence of themainland famous Internet writers, such as Ning Caishen, Xing Yusen,Anne Baby andJinhezai. Since twenty-first Century, more and more people saw the prospect ofnetwork novel, so novel website increases ceaselessly; and the quality and quantity ofnetwork novels also have been improved greatly.Except for the on-line dissemination, network novel with its unique charmattracts people like publishers, film and television makers and drama producers. Moreand more network novels with high popularity and high quality were published intopaper book; and many of them are adapted for the movies, television plays and gamesspreading through different channels. At the same time, the interactivity and opennessof network novels have also decided the importance of occupied audience in thecommunication network during the development process of the network novel. Basedon this, this article analyzes the communication channel and the audience of the novelfrom the perspective of communication. After reading the related books, the relevantliterature on CNKI and representative network novels, the author has certainunderstanding of dissemination of network novel. The questionnaire is designed by"the questionnaire on Star" on the website to explore the network novel disseminationchannels and the audience, which is taken quantitative analysis as the foundation,combined with qualitative analysis. On the strength of quantitative analysis andqualitative analysis, aiming at our country network’s communication channels and theaudience through analytical comparison, it summarized the characteristics of transmission channels of network novel and audience in China, analyzing theproblems existing in the preference of audience, extensive management, uneven levelof the publication quality and the low level of adaptation. Finally, based on the aboveproblems, strategies are put forward for the development, including deepening theprofit mode for novel website by improving the quality of the work, making strictselection of reasonable pricing for press, improving the network novel dramaproduction level, enhancing reading function of mobile phone.Faced with the increasingly fierce competition of the media, the continuousdevelopment of new media and the media convergence trend continued to strengthen,each media has their strengths and weaknesses. For the differences among hobbies,age, academic background of the audience, they have different preferences. Therefore,in the communication process of the network novels, people should address theaudience preferences, combining with the characteristics of different media to developsuitable communication strategies.In this paper, on the basis of data analysis, it obtains the deficiencies and proposessolutions aimed at the network novels in the dissemination process, to promote thedevelopment of Internet novel into positive communication.
