With the rapid development of market economy of China, Industrial Engineering education has attracted great attention in college, but due to lack of funds and practice environment, the construction speed of practice work can not keep up with the discipline construction. Therefore, there is a gap in the capabilities of application of the method and tool of Industrial Engineering between the college-educated Industrial Engineering talent and the one who is needed in the enterprises. The purpose of this paper is to design and develop a system of industrial engineering simulation sandbox, providing a network platform to students majoring Industrial Engineering, which can promote their industrial engineering expertise. With the system of Industrial Engineering simulation sandbox, users can apply production management, inventory management, financial management, and other theoretical contents to the actual analysis and management of the simulated enterprise, and the system not only can be used in teaching, but also can be applied to business training and management innovation.In this paper, we complete the development of the system of Industrial Engineering simulation sandbox through the following stages: system analysis, system design and system implementation. At the stage of system analysis, we analyze the system of Industrial Engineering simulation sandbox from the perspective of functions and data by using business process diagrams, with case diagrams and data flowchart. Further more, at the stage of system design, we build the structural frame system, containing strategic control, production planning, purchasing and sales management, financial management and human resources management, and we also make related operating rules and calculation methods perfect. Finally, at the stage of system implementation, we complete the code of the system, on the basis of management information systems, ASP language, B/S network structure model, and ACCESS database.We conduct analogous study between the the system of Industrial Engineering simulation sandbox and the ERP sand table simulation system during our system development, and conduct a simulation using a manufacturing enterprise model, which can achieve the management operations of the simulated enterprise through the pages of the system. Our system fills the gap of the simulation system of industrial engineering simulation sandbox, and plays a supplementary role in developing an advanced production control system and managers training.
