Wireless Body area networks(BAN), consist of a certain number of physiological sensor nodes placed on the human body surface(or implanted in body) and one gateway node which transmits collected information from sensors to a base station, and are used for monitoring human physiological data in various health-care applications. This paper proposes a timely, reliable and secure data transmission protocol and satisfies the requirements of “ plug and play”. This protocol is more advantaged in Packet delivery ratio,end-to-end delay and energy consumption, also has good security and performance analysis. The contents and results of this paper can be summarized as follows:1. Because the more reliability and timeliness are required in BAN compared to WSN, considering limited memory resource of the node and the priority of the BAN data. A timely and reliable protocol AODV-RT is presented.(1)Classify the data packet by priority into: Highest, High, Medium,Low and Lowest. The Highest packet belongs to the alarm information, with the highest priority.(2)The alarm data, which has highest priority, is cached at each node along the route path. The HBH error recovery is provided firstly; Then the error recovery combining E2 E with HBH is provided for lower RSSI(Received Signal Strength Indicator) node to caching higher priority data packet at the previous node, and finally the E2 E error recovery is adopted for lower priority packet.(3) The performance analysis and simulation experiment indicate that, packet delivery ratio, average end-to-end delay and energy consumption in AODV-RT drops 4%, 9.5% and 14% approximately compared with similar protocol MAODV-SIM.2. Because the requirement of BAN security of data transport, a secure multi-hop data transmission protocol based on combination of node’ s clock characteristics and properties of the BAN is presented.(1)This protocol is divided into three phases: system initialization, formation of secure routing and encrypted data transmission.(2)This protocol has good security in dynamics and accuracy of keys, avoiding passive and active attacks, preventing node capture and supporting new node joining through security analysis.(3)This protocol has accepted overheads of memory, computation and energy consumption by means of performance analysis; it satisfies the requirements of “ plug and play” without added node’ s hardware and pre-load any keys, makes the complicated data security and privacy in the BAN become operable easily and practicable strongly.
