High-speed Train Oriented Sensor Data Monitoring System

In recent years, the rapid development of high-speed train has attracted wide attention. Since high-speed train has shown many advantages, such as energy-saving, safety and amenity, it has become the preferred traffic means. With the development of science and technology, the high-speed train is getting faster, yet accidents happened occasionally. For this reason, sensor-network system has been used to monitor the working states of trains in real time. It lays the basis for intelligent diagnose and fault alarm. Therefore, the main work of this paper is to establish the intelligent monitor system based on the sensor-network system. Sensor-network system generates a vast amount of real-time data, however, how to present these complex data is also an important problem of the sensor-network field. For the visualization technology provides intuitive and interactive tools for human beings to explore massive and complex dataset, we exploit this technology to effectively present the sensor data.Based on Adobe AIR platform and HTML5, we developed a real-time monitoring prototype system based on sensor-network installed on a high-speed train. In this paper, we designed four kinds of sensor-network communication protocols; we designed data transmission protocols to request and transmit data between different systems; we designed the visualization components to show the complex data. We also designed the system architecture and fulfilled the gateway system and visualization-monitor system. As it is a subsystem of the "intelligent high-speed train application platform", we took participate in debugging and testing of the system for 50 days. During the system debugging, the system reliably received the train’s real-time data and visualized them on a large screen. As a working fruit of a research project, it has been examined by the Looped Railway Research Institute, Beijing.
