Turntable technology advanced or not, has an important influence on a country’s aviation and advanced weapon system development and radar servo control system, what’s more it reflects the comprehensive strength of a country in a certain extent. Turntable plays an important role in the precise positioning of the advanced missile, radar tracking and precise measurement of the target location.The advanced and intelligent control method is the important guarantee to the turntable precisely control. Turntable control algorithm research is improved and developed in a generation of scientific and technical personnel’s tireless efforts.With the single axis turntable as the research experiment object, this article introduces the single axis turntable’s structure and composition,according to requirement of turntable position control, designs PID control algorithm,fuzzy self-tuning PID control algorithm, and model-free adaptive control algorithm for position control of the single axis three different control algorithms, analyzes the actual control effect and verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of these algorithms. The article firstly introduces the basic idea and principle of PID control, designs PID controller and control algorithms. Secondly, it introduces the basic idea and control principle of fuzzy control, combine the PID control and fuzzy control two methods designs a fuzzy self-tuning PID controller, complets the fuzzy self regulating to decide the PID control algorithm research. In turntable running process, this method is able to adjust PID control parameters on-line to improve the control accuracy in the the process of turntable running. Again, this paper introduces the basic concept and working principle of model-free adaptive control, describes the compact format dynamic linearization method, partial format dynamic linearization method and full format dynamic linearization method three kinds of method, and designs a compact format based on dynamic linear model-free adaptive controller. For turntable position control systems, we use PID controller, the fuzzy self-tuning PID algorithm and model-free adaptive control algorithm to carry on the simulation experiment in the turntable system in different disturbance and different load situation, and the results were analyzed and discussed in detail. Finally, physical control study is dong in the single axis turntable through VC++ 6.0 software programming the control interface and writing the control algorithms, and has carried on the active control to the turntable.
