In recent years, with the rapid development of science and technology, computational electromagnetics has made significant progress. In the modern warfare, advanced stealth technology can change or weaken the feature information of subject via a variety of techniques, confusing radar detection system of the enemy, reducing the chance of being detected, extending the life cycle of the aircraft or weapons to the maximum extent. In electromagnetic field, with the continuous improvement of the high-frequency method, fast computation of complex radar cross section become an important topic. In this paper, this problem is studied. For a complex model, the main factors affecting its radar cross section calculations are the number of facets and shading judgment of every facet. In this paper, the physical optics method is being used for target research. Besides, the program is optimized through software level and hardware level to use the advantages of multi-core computer. This paper successfully transform the physics formulas to programming language after introducing the derivation of them. Then introduce computer graphics blanking algorithm which combines the advantage of blanking algorithm and come up with facet grouping. For the determination to make a flat triangle intersection optimization theory introduces a triangle does not intersect, greatly reducing the amount of computation. Finally, we talk about the principles of analysis multi-core computer hardware system, use multi-threading and multi-process programming technology, give full play to the advantages of multi-core computer hardware. With the help of Open MP, parallel algorithms and physical optics algorithm are combined to enhance the computing speed of the target radar cross section. In the algorithm, from the software level and hardware level we optimize the use of multi-core computing program to verify the speedup and efficiency. Complex model’s RCS calculation results are given, the effect is almost the same with software simulation and can be taken for reference in the field of optical methods.
