Radio frequency identification technology is an untouched auto-identification technology which had been raised in the 1980s,it is a general developing tendency of AEI(Automatic Equipment Identification), which has even been praised to be one of the top ten most significant technology of the 21st century. After the problem of high cost being solved by the advantaged policy enacted by governments around the world, RFID is applied into mass broad fields.This article plan and design a relatively complete project, presents an example of Colliery performance appraisal system designing based on the RFID technology according to the requirement of application.First of all, This article introduces the selection and design of the reader and the tag. According to the actual needs of the coal mine, choose a low-frequency reader of 125KHZ and electronic tags which comply with EM4100 standards. Design Reader antenna, the appearance of electronic tag and the size and location of openings on the electronic label shape and drill so that electronic tags can be mounted on the drill pipe. What’ s more, we produce a number of shaped electron label projects needed through the cooperation with enterprises. The innovation here is that we put an RFID tag production on the drill so that we can identify the drill pipe through the reader.Then, develop program on a development board based on ARM and embedded linux to record and manage the event which the reader identify ID of drill to get the workload data of miners ultimately.Finally, use C# programming language and SQL server database management software on the computer platform to develop a performance appraisal system for the workload assessment of underground miners. In addition, it can administrate drill rig of coal miners’ purchase and information of miners who operate rigs correspondingly.
