Radio-frequency identification(RFID) technology is a non-contact automatic identification technology, which uses the form of radio frequency to intercommunicate wirelessly between RF electronic tags and read-write equipment, proceeding to complete target identification and data exchanging. Now RFID technology has been widely used in industrial automation, business automation, traffic automation and many other fields.On the threshold of a new realm that informational survival and personal network, the security requirement on the deposition of equipment and articles will no longer be limited to the safe and password boxes, but hope the real-time monitoring, prevent malicious theft, unfortunately in the event of being burgled, can alarm timely. Especially the stealage of museum artifacts, works of art in the exhibition hall, firearms of troops and other valuables will cause great losses. Therefore, real-time monitoring was especially important, using RFID technology to achieve real-time monitoring is the best choice.This paper takes firearms as an example, through the researching of RFID technology's application mode in the articles monitoring management, builds the valuables monitoring and management system which based RFID technology. In the system development process, firstly, develops RFID equipment, achieves the read-write function of the electronic tags which has been embedded in the valuables, and sends the information of radio frequency electronic tags to the PC. Secondly, develops the Ethernet communications module, embeds the cutting TCP / IP protocol into the microprocessor, accomplishes the Socket Communications between PC and lower-machine with the development environment of Visual C ++ 6.0. Thirdly, develops the firearms management system, the paper uses the inheritance and encapsulation of Visual Basic6.0 to design some special windows, controls and functions, which simplifies the design work of management system software, and improves the speed and accuracy of the code writing. The entire system using RFID technology changes the data collection approach of valuables monitoring that original rely on manual, preclude the interference of human factors, not only increases the accuracy of the monitoring, real-time alarm monitoring, and reduces the cost of monitoring, manageable, very suitable for the management of valuables monitoring.
