As the chip technology development in the direction of the high integration, high speed and high bandwidth, the chip validation test work in the chip design processing occupies a more and more important position. But at the same time, the chip validation test work difficulty is also becoming more and more prominent, especially high bandwidth analog chips. Today’s domestic and foreign high speed and high bandwidth analog chips encounter many difficulties in the test. With the increase of the input signal bandwidth and sampling frequency, the test error of testing instrument and testing platform will have a large impact on the test result. Even the most advanced testing instruments, the measurement accuracy is in some ways also may not be able to meet the requirements of the test. But the effect of test platform and test instrument itself on the result of measurement always can’t be eliminated, so how to reduce the impact through improving the test method and technology such as the design of test structure, and even turn the disadvantage into advantage is a challenge to test engineer.HDD Preamp is a dedicated high speed and high bandwidth analog chip. Due to the limitation of production techniques and materials of the hard disk heads, HDD Preamp input and output network has a lot of uncertainty, so the HDD Preamp should be fully considered about the network problems such as mismatch and noise during design and test processing. This work embarks from the practical application, two concrete tests as example, studied the high-bandwidth HDD Preamp IC validation test technology. In this work, the mismatch problem of amplifier network is completely analyzed, with a complete theory, the simulation results and the improved methods. And the analysis is able to draw a general conclusion. In this work, another example elaborates and analyzes how to use complex test algorithm enhance the oscilloscope’s recognition ability of micro high speed analog signal in automation test, to get accurate measurements and meet the test requirements about accuracy and efficiency. It breaks through the limitation of the traditional test method, improving the accuracy and efficiency in automation test.
