Accuracy (including the rotational accuracy, positioning accuracy and speed accuracy) is the most important performance index of a three-axis test turntable (TATT). Partial features of accuracy of vertical TATT are studied in this paper. Some corresponding experiments are managed on a real TATT which is under construction. The history and key points of TATT are reviewed as well as the various factors affecting the turntable's accuracy features are highlighted by comprehension of materials. The relationship between the eccentricity of angle measurement component and positioning accuracy are analyzed. The compensation method is proposed subsequently. A model of pointing error of TATT is established to analyze the rotational accuracy of real TATT by aide of data measured. The model of TATT is established, in which the coefficients are determined by identification. Certain of cascade compensation technologies are employed to design a controller of TATT. The simulation demonstrates that the controller is simple and effective. Some jobs are accomplished to form the whole control system, including control system architecture design, hardware selection, control unit design and a preliminary design of application software. The present paper has completed the whole circuit traces design of TATT.Based on the above work, positioning accuracy and speed accuracy testing are carried out on the real TATT. The experiments demonstrate that the positioning accuracy and speed accuracy can meet the requirements after compensation of eccentricity of the angle measuring component.
